Every week of the Academy includes about 90 minutes of webinars and homework activities that you complete on your own time plus a 90-minute live session where we dive deep into ACJI’s 10 Essential Principles of Implementation Leadership. The 90-minute live sessions are facilitated on Zoom, so you’ll need a computer with video and audio capabilities. Live sessions are not recorded or distributed so pick an Academy that works for your schedule.
Participants must attend at least six of the eight sessions to receive a certificate of completion, which is mailed to participants a few weeks after the Academy ends. Two weeks prior to the first live session, registered participants will receive an email from ACJI staff with the credentials to log in to the virtual platform.
Registration is non-refundable. However, if a situation arises where you are no longer able to attend, your registration can be transferred to a future class. Please contact info@acji.org with any questions.

A variety of professionals from community organizations and justice agencies attend the Implementation Leadership Academy. It’s not uncommon to see program managers, directors, attorneys, judges, supervisors, officers, and others in a cohort together. We are especially delighted when participants join from other industries outside of the justice system and beyond the United States—even as far as Sweden!
If you are wanting to build your leadership skills and are interested in any of the following, then you are an excellent fit for the Academy.
- Solving difficult problems and adopting a better way of getting work done
- Expanding your mindset and vocabulary to lead change effectively
- Identifying opportunities to align practices and achieve better outcomes
- Seeing initiatives through to the end, even when there are political changes and challenges
If you are in a position to affect change (or you would like to be), now’s the time to explore Implementation Science using ACJI’s unique approach for justice system leaders.

Yes! If you are interested in the public Academy, we recommend you bring at least one other person from your organization who can help you apply the concepts to your work. Many organizations send groups of five participants at a time.
If there are more than ten people interested in the Academy from your organization, consider a Private Academy.
Both the public and private Academies have their advantages. Call us at 720-255-1270 to discuss which one is right for you and your organization.
We highly recommend you complete the intro Implementation Leadership Academy before participating in 102 or the Culture Academy. The intro Academy will give you an understanding of the foundational principles, while in the advanced Academies, you will dive deeper and put principles into practice.

No, but if you can’t make the Academy you signed up for, we can hold your spot in a future one.
About two weeks before the Academy begins, all registered participants will receive an email with a link to a welcome survey and instructions for accessing the online classroom and connecting to the live sessions via Zoom.
Live sessions are not recorded. You will have full access to all of the supplementary static videos and can watch those as many times as you like.
Participants who attend the required number of sessions will receive a certificate of completion in the mail about a month after the Academy ends. For eight week Academies, you must attend six sessions. For our ten week Academy, you must attend seven sessions.
